(Trabajadores Digital, May 21, 2003)

Hanoi, May 21 (PL).- The unveiling of a monument to honor Vietnam's liberation hero, Ho Chi Minh, at a Havana park made headlines in the Vietnamese press on Wednesday.

In addition to national radio and TV news reports, local newspapers reported on the ceremony in the Cuban capital, and printed color pictures of the moment when Ho Chi Minh's bust was unveiled in the Havana neighborhood of Nuevo Vedado.

The media in Hanoi and former Saigon highlighted the presence of several Cuban leaders in the event, as well as a delegation of the Association of Friendship with Cuba in southern Ho Chi Minh City.

"First monument to honor Ho Chi Minh in Cuba," the "Ha Noi Moi" daily entitled a three-column article with a picture capturing the moment when Esteban Lazo, member of the Political Bureau and Havana's Communist Party First Secretary, and Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Tien Tu unveiled the monument.

The main Vietnamese daily "Nhan Dan" referred to the ceremony, which forms part of the activities held in Cuba to commemorate the 113th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 108th anniversary of Cuban independence leader Jose Marti's death in combat in Dos Rios.
