That Thanh (Ho Chi Minh) was born in the small village of Kim
lien near Vinh, Nghe An Province. |

Ho
Chi Minh leaves Vietnam on a French ship for Great Britain. In
London he worked as a cook in the Carlton Hotel. He became a
member of the "Overseas Workers' Association", an anti
colonial movement (supporting Irish Independence as well). After
London he spent a short time in New York. During the First World
War he went to Paris in France. |

the 18th congress of the French Socialist Party in Tours. |

Chi Minh founded The Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League (Viet
Nam Cach Menh Thanh Nien Dong Chi Ho) in Guangzhou, China. |

Chi Minh merges three groups of revolutionaries into the
Vietnamese Communist Party (Dang Cong San Viet Nam) in Hongkong,
later renamed the Indochinese Communist Party (Dang Cong San
Dong Duong). |

Nghe
Tinh Uprising. During this uprising revolutionary committees
took control of parts of Nghe Anh and Ha Tinh provinces. After a
brutal wave of terror the French reestablished control in these
provinces. |

The
French general governor of Indochina signed a decree to sentence
Ho Chi Minh to death. |

Ho
Chi Minh was arrested by the Nationalist authority in Guangxi
province in China. |

Chi Minh was freed from prison. |

Declaration of Independence, solemnly stating to the
